Hmmmm…

It all started when I read this post on Linda’s blog about how Lunarin might be taking a hiatus. In fact, it was due to guitarist Kah Wye being posted to Taiwan for work for the next 6 months as it’s written here. I’m starting to think that he might not even be coming back! Anyhow, apparently drummer Eng Teck is quite perturbed about the incident (as written here) and is pretty determined to track down Kah Wye. What I’ve heard is that Kah Wye had been contactable only once since he left last week… In fact, there were rumours he might stay in Taiwan to work and form another band. Heard he really likes the place.

So I had a few drinks with the 2 the other night. Despite their differences, I could see that they missed him a lot. Though Kah Wye had commited to flying back on a regular basis to play shows with Lunarin, Linda’s not too hopeful in the long run. She was almost in tears… I could see underneath Eng Teck’s steely demeanor that he was hurting too.

Anyhow, it somehow came to this arrangement that I might have to help out on guitars for the time being as a standby guitarist in the event that the budget airline flights from Taiwan are delayed (… as usual). With the option of seeing I might join the band in the more permanent sense in the future. What of The Love Experiment? Would I have to leave the band in the event that my aid to Lunarin becomes too weighty? Goddammit, I can't even play squeal harmonics! Gotta ask Alvin to teach me again...
